C – Zero Vehicle Runs Off of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor
The wave of eco-friendly vehicles being shown somewhere around the globe continues to push along since today news are that the French auto outfit Citroen is joining related company Peugeot in showing off this type of automobile. Citroen is certainly going for something a lot less exotic though then a SR1 hybrid concept, opting instead, claims Autoblog Green, for the urban 4 seater C-Zero.
French Company Citroen intends to present this C-Zero vehicle later this month on the automobile show in Brussels. because it’s all electric powered, Citroen says, it’s absolutely no emissions.C-Zero runs off of a “permanent magnet synchronous motor” which is powered by a new generationof lithium-ion battery. Motor performance is said to provide “47kW and 64bhp EEC by 3,000 to 6,000rpm,” with a max torque of 180Nm available from to 2,000rpm. Estimated driving statistics, much more aimed to European standards, include “a top speed of 80mph, acceleration from -62mph within Fifteen sec as well as a range of close to Eighty miles.”
This Vehicle, for all intensive purposes, a rebranded European Mitsubishi i-MiEV. Charging times will probably be more standard when the all-electric automobile is plugged into a 220-volt socket or it’s possible to get an 80% charge in Half an hour when plugged into a 400-volt supply. Expect this small little electric powered automobile roaming the city streets of Europe starting in the last quarter of 2010.
